Finnmark is Norway's most northerly and largest county in area, and as its name suggests (Finn/Sami-forest), it is the historical heartland of Norway's indigenous Sami people. At 71° North, you will find the midnight sun by summer and northern lights by winter at the county's famous North Cape. Along the coast and fjords there are many fishing villages and cities: Alta, Hammerfest, Honningsvåg, Kirkenes, Vardø, and Vadsø.
