Rogaland is home to Norway's fourth largest city and some of its most famous tourist sites, including the Pulpit Rock, Kjerag, the national monument at Haraldshaugen and the Swords in the Rock commemorating the viking battle of Hafrsfjord during which Norway was united for the first time under one king, Harald Fair-Hair. In addition to fantastic hiking and climbing, the city of Stavanger offers many attractions such as its old town, the cathedral, oil industry museum, among others.
