Norway's capital and largest city, Oslo, is situated between fjord and forests, making it easy to combine large city attractions and nature experiences. Among its many sites to visit are its famous Opera House, Holmenkollen ski-jump area,  the Vigeland sculpture park, the National Gallery, the Munch Museum, Karl  Johans gate, and the vibrant harbor at Aker Brygge. The city is also home to many of the country's most famous historical museums: the Viking Ship  Museum, the Folk Museum, the Fram Museum, the Kon-Tiki Museum, Norway's  Resistance Museum, among others. In addition to all the city has to offer there  are several nearby islands with swimming beaches in the Oslofjord which can be  reached by city ferries, nearby forests for hiking/camping, and countless lakes and rivers for canoeing and fishing expeditions. In the winter you can find ice skating in the city center, thousands of kilometers of prepared skiing trails in the neighboring forests, the sledding track Korketrekkeren, and the Tryvann Ski Resort.
